Neil Krug
This is one of those times that you see someone's work and wonder how you ever get to be that good.
It's encouraging to know he uses a range of tools to get these effects, but its the LIGHT that kills me.
Neil Krug. aaaaamazing. Read his interview with Fecal Face here.

The Hours - See the Light
Yeah. That's right. I'm posting two videos from the same band in the same day. But I already told you I love them so you can suck it.
Plus, this one features the enviably beautiful Sienna Miller. I want to hate her for it but I can't.

Holy moses I'm a grouch today.... Spring sprung over the weekend and then went off to hide again. Ugh.
The Hours - Ali in the Jungle
I love The Hours. They have a sound that reeks of Brit Pop and which makes me feel nostalgic yet excited for their freshness. Their lyrics are surprisingly heavy and masked by the catchy melodies.
Pardon my silly wordiness. I've been writing up another interview so I'm feeling loquacious.
Give them a go. They're on Damien Hirst's new record label so I'm hoping they keep pumping out videos as bananas as the one above.

David Pajo - Where Eagles Dare
David Pajo (aka Papa M) is releasing a new album called Scream With Me and it's a Misfits cover album. I'm intrigued to hear his interpretation...

Dananananakroid - Black Wax
Ok. I may love Dananananakroid first and foremost because of their name.
But now they just made a glitter party video and the deal is sealed.

all in the timing
This guy has a street performance where he gets five or six people to line up, bent over, and he FLIPS OVER THEM ALL. He's like the Evel Knievel of acrobats.
I shot this on film and was sooooo excited to get back the result. I had no idea if I'd caught him mid-air or what I would get at all.
Won the lottery on this one.

conversations on equations
Me: OOOOH LOOK AT THE SKY!!! THAT'S BANANAS!!
S: I think it's God trying to talk to people
M: But why not to meeeeee???!! Doesn't he know that I've cried a bunch in the last week and I could just use a nice word or two?
S: But there's nothing in the Bible about spreadsheets...
M: Hey. The ten commandments are in tablet form.
S: You're going to blog this aren't you.
And thus a story of yore was retold.
Japanese Motors
On the back of a sold-out tour with Modest Mouse, the
boys from Japanese Motors rocked into Austin for SXSW.
Meredith Bonner caught up with Alex Knost, Andrew
Atkinson, and Nick Soderberg during a crazy schedule.
Sadly, guitarist Nolan Hall was still out driving
around in the van, looking for a parking spot.

tweebots and ferretbunny
So this is making the rounds this morning like wildfire:

An experiment by Kacie Kinzer, a student at the NY Tisch school of the arts, has this little bot going around NYC. Occasionally it runs into obstacles or may need directions and it asks passers by for help. The result is the unexpected kindness of the strangers.
Anything with a silly voice is an instant winner for me. And I'm still riding the Easter chocolate high.
